Hi Alison. I’d very much recommend the LPW courses (http://www.leicesterprintworkshop.com/courses/). I’d never printed before attending one of the six week intro courses run there by Nichola Hingley (eg http://www.leicesterprintworkshop.com/courses/introduction_to_print_1/). I joined LPW before the end of the course and have since done a number of linocuts and etchings and one set of collagraphs. I’ve even contributed a linocut to the current resident artist’s project (will blog on that shortly). The other great thing about LPW is the willingness of the artists who go there to share their own skills and provide advice if you ask or even just look a little lost (which I do a lot of the time ).

I love these images – they are so hot and vibrant, and great fun. I’ve been exploring your blog and notice that you’ve been on some Leicester Print Workshop courses; would you recommend them?
I’m thinking of doing some more on collographs, which I touched on on the Foundation in Art and Design at DMU and really enjoyed.

Wow. No wonder my stats sky-rocketed! Thanks so much for the encouraging comments, Alison. I signed up for the Nov/Dec and Feb/Mar evening classes at Embrace Arts but really wish I’d gone for the daytime ones: getting back to East Midlands Parkway at 9:45pm is a drag.

I’ve just checked out your blog. I’m super-impressed with what you are doing: you are so much more organised in your approach to self-directed learning than I could ever be. Well done and best of luck on your course.

I do like your drawings – they are strong, condfident compositions and stand well on the page.

The links are part of the Mystique theme options. In your Dashboard, under Appearance is the item, Theme Options. There you can choose the Layout (full width, no sidebar for me), colour/color scheme (purple) and which social icons to show. If you fill in the links beside each icon, it’ll show the icon and link to your site. Good luck with it.

Aargh- just noticed that I hadn’t clicked the ‘Post Comment’ button. D’oh.
